Paul Curnow
2nd Trombone
Joined 1988
Paul began playing trombone at an early age and commenced playing in brass bands with Strathfieldsaye Municipal Band (later known as Greater Bendigo Concert Brass). During his 10 year stint on both bass and tenor trombone the band rose through the ranks to become one of Australia's few regionally based A-Grade bands under the leadership of Mark Ford.
After moving to Melbourne to complete his medical studies Paul joined Kew Band in 1998 again under the baton of Mark Ford. His involvement in the Australian A-Grade Nationals victory of 1998 (Melbourne) and the 1999 Tour of Japan remain highlights of his playing career.
As a Doctor of dermatology (the physiology and pathology of skin) and father of three young children, Paul is a very busy man. In 2008 he returned to Kew following an extended break from banding and has been a welcome addition to the team.
