Patrick Mudge
Principal Euphonium
Patrick first began playing brass at the age of 14, as a member of the Eaglehawk Brass Band. Like most brass band beginners, he learnt to push down the right buttons on a cornet, but soon moved onto baritone and
then onto euphonium where he finally felt he could "do more damage".Patrick quickly established himself as a valued leader within the team and in 2008 secured the coveted Principal Euphonium position. He has also enjoyed outstanding solo achievements including 2003 Royal South Street Society (Ballarat) Open Euphonium Champion and runner up in the 2008 Australian National Championships Open Euphonium section.
Away from music, Patrick is an osteopath at Melbourne Osteopathic and Sports Injuries Practice. In his spare time he enjoys running, tennis, playing the piano and playing the guitar.
