Tim Curnow
Principal BBb Tuba
Joined 1997
Tim has been playing BBb tuba since the early 80's, starting with the Strathfieldsaye (now Greater Bendigo) Brass Band. Since that time he has had the opportunity of playing in a number of top brass bands including Kew Band Melbourne and Australian Brass for three tours.
His playing prowess has not gone unnoticed and he has been the Australian National BBb Bass Solo Champion on three occasions. His playing skills mean he is often sought by other bands to play with them on permit.
In recent times Tim has taken on the busy role of Band President and worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition for the band following the retirement of former conductor Mark Ford.
In his private life, Tim is an electronic engineer and runs his own consulting business.

At 38 years of age, Rob has just returned to Kew for his second stint on Tuba, this time on BBb. Having begun playing music at the age of 12 he tried several instruments including French Horn, Tenor Horn, Euphonium, Baritone and EEb before finding his way to his beloved BBb. Throughout this time Rob has been a member of several bands including Heidelberg Band (1978-1980), Strathfieldsaye Municipal Band (1981-1999), Kew Band (2000), Moreland-Brunswick (2001-2003) and back to Kew Band (2004-?).
His other hobbies include collecting old race cars and cars in general, automobilia, stamps, coins and comics. Basically, collecting stuff! Rob says he is not interested in the solo side of playing and prefers only to be a member of a band working as a team.
