Joined 2008
Jessica began learning the Baritone in 1999 under Jack Kelly, Life Member of Darebin City Brass and subsequently joined Darebin in 2003.
During a fruitful period at Darebin, Jessica was awarded the ‘2005 Most Outstanding Musician of the Year’ and also states “one of the highlights of banding for me is working closely with my Coach and Mentor, Peter Caldwell, Life Member of Darebin City Brass.”
It wasn’t long before her impressive talent was displayed in the solo arena. Since 2004 Jessica has achieved a string of State and National Baritone solo victories. These include numerous Junior, Open and Slow Melody Victorian State Championship titles. In 2007 she became the Australian Open Baritone Champion at the Nationals in Ivanhoe, Victoria.
Other musical highlights include being chosen to perform in the 2005 “Season of Excellence Top Class Acts” (designed to showcase the highest achievers in the VCE) and more recently being selected to perform in David King’s coveted National Australia Brass.
Kew Band Melbourne was privileged to welcome Jessica in 2008 to the position of Principal Baritone.
